Arthur Kobalowsky (Duncan Waugh)

Arthur was one of the youngest characters that was introduced in the series premiere of Degrassi. He is Stephanie Kaye's brother, and he goes under his father's last name, because his parents are divorced, Arthur lives with his father, and Stephanie lives her mother. Arthur is a nice, friendly kind of person. We do not know mucha about him deeply, because his character starts to become a shadow of Degrassi as years go by. He becomes best friends with Yick Yu, helps Yick with school by giving him old papers that Stephanie Kaye ahd written the year before to prove a point ( in the episode entitled 'The Experiment") about Mr. Raditch's unfair treatment of him. Arthur and Yick have been through up and downs in the Christmas episode of Season 3 when they reminise about their experiences together. Arthur helped Yick ask Melanie out, as Yick liked Melanie for a long time. Arthur was a very good student who was very articulate, and fair. He was very different from his sister.

Arthur still has trouble dealing with his parents divorce. When his mom meets Jerry, and they plan to marry, he feels upset that he has to move away from his father. He does not want to move in with his mother, because he is used to his life.
One season later, in the episode entitled "Making Whoopee", Arthur's father's girlfriend Carol starts to spend more time with the father, and Arthur gets jealous and hurt. He does not want Carol to do the same thing as Jerry did, to move in slowly and marry the father. he feels taken away, as he says, that "That's not my mother...What are you doing here? This was supposed to be for parents." the relationshiopo that they have upsets Arthur and this makes Carol dump the father. Arthur now feels bad that she dumped him, all because he was feeling left out.

In the 4th and 5th season Arthur and Yick move in separate circles. Arthur stays the same, innocent hard working students, and Yick gets into smoking, and hanging out at malls.
