Yick Yu (Siluck Saysanasy)

Yick and Arthur became quick friends the very first day of Degrassi Junior High. They wwnt through many experiences together, like Yick cheating by taking Stephanie Kaye's papers, Yick asking Melanie out on a date, buying a fake vase for show and tell, Arthur's wet dreams, Swamp Sex Robots day at Arthur's house. We can also see after the third season that Yick thinks that being friends with Arthur has made him a nerd. He starts to rebel against his old self. He does not understand Arthur and becomes distant with him, because of his new attitude when he becomes rich in the beginning of Term 3.  Yick starts to smoke, do drugs, and "hang out at the mall", when Arthur travels throughout Europe to gain culture and savour the heritage of Europe.

Both have drifted, and we can see that Yick is not the same little kid that he was in Degrassi Junior High.  Yick's family came to Canada as boat people from Lahos, he says in "Smokescreen". He feels ashamed, and tried to find something historical to bring to show and tell to his class, but he could not find anything. He bought a vase, and told Arthur that it was a family heirloom. When Arthur broke it by accident, he felt awful, but Yick latwer confessed to him, that he bought it because he had nothing to show to the class.
